Between the Gatherings

is a branding project for a fictional bookstore in Edinburgh, Scotland, blending my love for reading with a passion for crafting immersive brand experiences. The design evokes warmth and intimacy, inviting customers to embark on a personal reading journey. By integrating traditional printmaking techniques with modern digital design, I’ve created a cohesive identity that includes logos, packaging, and signage - all rooted in the tactile experience of books and storytelling.

When a customer joins the program, they will receive this envelope (styled after a library card) along with their membership card. The envelope tracks their genre collection (see buttons below). The individual card reminds them of their benefits.

One of the ways readers can interact with the brand is through these buttons.  BTG is a fiction-only bookshop, so our shelves are organized by subgenres of fiction. When readers purchase a book, they recieve a pin that matches the book’s genre. There are 7 pins they must earn before they receive the “Ultimate Fiction Lover” pin. The earned genres can be tracked by keeping the pins and also on the membership card’s pocket. Crossing off all of these genres is a great way to earn repeat customers and gain interaction with the Instagram (those who earn the Ultimate Fiction Lover will be posted).
